My ID10T's guide to Mac #2 "Networking Part 1"

Here's a simple step by step on how to access your windows PC shared folders and files from your Mac..

1. Now, on your Mac, from Finder's Go menu, choose "Connect to Server."


2. Enter the Pc's name or IP address, preceded by smb://, as shown:


3. Click Connect


4. Once Connected it will ask you to "Select the Volumes to mount:" (what share folders you want to access on the PC)


5. Select the folder you want to access and click OK. Now look on your desktop and you will see the folder that you mounted.


Job Done!

For an even simpler method....

1. From Finder's Go menu, choose "Connect to Server."


2. Instead of Clicking on "Connect" click the "Browse" button.. This will open a window that will display all you devices that are detected/ connected on your network... (windows equivalent of Network Neighborhood)


3. Select the device you want to connect to and away you go...
