My ID10T's guide to setting up and using a iMac #1 "How to enable right clicking on your Mac mouse"

For some unknown reason the default setting for right clicking on a
iMac mouse is setup to be a Primary Button.

To change this very essential setting I had to follow the below
steps.. How anyone can work with only a one button mouse is beyond me..

1.Click System Preferences

2. Under hardware -> Select Mouse and Keyboard

3. Select Mouse tab and change the right click option to Secondary Button.

4. job Done. Close all the windows you opened up above. Now when you right click the mouse you should see the following options, depending on where you are right clicking of course..

"We apologise" - those of a politically sensitive nature should not read this!!

Sent by a South African friend.

Did anyone read the paper last week (Mercury) where the main headline
stated the following?

"It's not too late for whites to say sorry for apartheid!"

Check the email that went around responding to the headline. It's a kick
ass response.

Subject: We Apologise

To the Previously Disadvantaged

We are sorry that our ancestors were intelligent, advanced and daring
enough to explore the wild oceans to discover new countries and
develop them.

We are sorry that those who came before us took you out of the bush
and taught you that there was more to life than beating drums, killing
each other and chasing animals with sticks and stones.

We are sorry that they planned, funded and developed roads, towns,
mines, factories, airports and harbours, all of which you now claim to be
your long deprived inheritance giving you every right to change and rename
these at your discretion.

We are sorry that our parents taught us the value of small but strong
families, to not breed like rabbits and end up as underfed, diseased,
illiterate shack dwellers living in poverty.

We are sorry that when the evil apartheid government provided you
with schools, you decided they'd look better without windows or in piles
of ashes.

We happily gave up those bad days of getting spanked in our all white
schools for doing something wrong and much prefer these days of
freedom where problems can be resolved with knives and guns.

We are sorry that it is hard to shake off the bitterness of the past
when you keep on raping, torturing and killing our friends and family
members, and then hide behind the fence of "human rights" with smiles on your
faces.

We are sorry that we do not trust the government. We have no reason
to be so suspicious because none of these poor hard working intellectuals have
ever been involved in any form of corruption or "irregularities".

We are sorry that we do not trust the police force and, even though
they have openly admitted that they have lost the war against crime and
criminals, we should not be negative and just ignore their corruption
and carry on hoping for the best.

We are sorry that it is more important to you to have players of
colour in our national teams than winning games and promoting patriotism. We
know that sponsorship doesn't depend on a team's success.

We are sorry that our border posts have been flung open and now left
you competing for jobs against illegal immigrants from our beautiful
neighbouring countries. All of them countries that have grown into
economic powerhouses after kicking out the "settlers".

We are sorry that we don't believe in witchcraft, beetroot and garlic
cures, urinating on street corners, virginity testing, slaughtering
of bulls in our back yards, trading women for cattle and other barbaric practices.
Maybe we just grew up differently.

We are sorry that your medical care, water supplies, roads, railways
and electricity supplies are going down the toilet because skilled people
who could have planned for and resolved these issues had to be shown away
because they were of the wrong ethnic background and now have to work
in foreign countries where their skills are more needed.

We are so sorry that we'd like this country to fulfil its potential
so we can once again be proud South Africans.

UAE drivers face harsh new penalties

by Amy Glass on Sunday, 24 February 2008

http://www.arabianbusiness.com/511983-uae-drivers-face-harsh-new-penalties

Drink-driving motorists face harsher penalties, including heavy fines and imprisonment, under new UAE federal traffic laws to be introduced on March 1, a traffic official warned on Saturday.

Ghaith Hassan Al Zaabi, director of the Traffic Department at the Ministry of Interior, said motorists who drive under the influence of alcohol will be fined at least 20,000 dirhams ($5,446), and jailed, UAE daily Khaleej Times reported on Sunday.

The length of the prison term was not disclosed by the newspaper.

The same heavy penalty will apply to motorists who leave the scene of an accident, while motorists who drive without a licence face a fine of up to 5,000 dirhams and a prison term of up to three months.

The stricter penalties follow news that 1,053 people were killed in UAE road accidents during 2007, compared to 868 deaths due to accidents in 2006.

Recent figures released by the Ministry of Interior show that there were 6,813 accidents on UAE roads during 2007, resulting in 10,526 injuries.

According to government statistics, one person is injured on the UAE roads every two hours, with one fatal injury every fifteen hours.

Under the amended UAE federal traffic law, people caught driving after being ordered not to, due to prior violations, will have to pay a fine of 5,000 dirhams or serve a three-month jail.

Al Zaabi said people who supply false information to police to avoid traffic charges will be fined up to 5,000 dirhams, or receive a three-month jail term.

The law also states that vehicles must be technically examined and certified upon registration, or renewal of registration.

Sleep tight South Africa....

As a South African.. I was a bit reluctant to post this after i received it as an e-mail from a friend as this only shows the world how narrow/small minded our government (leaders of the new South Africa) really are... but despite their idiotic comments / brain farts that they should keep to themselves... South Africa is still one of the most beautiful countries in the world to see and visit...

===================================================

South African health minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang tells those with
HIV to eat garlic and beetroot.

The former deputy president, Jacob Zuma told the Johannesburg High Court
that he took a shower - after having sex with the HIV-positive
complainant without a condom - as he believed this minimised his risk of
contracting the disease.

"Go to sleep earlier so that you can grow and be cleverer" - Minister Of
Minerals and Energy Buyelwa Sonjica unveiling a 10-point plan to
encourage South Africans to change their electricity usage habits.

"It is one of the things that would make it (the tournament) a success
because we hear of many rapes, because people don't have access to them
(women)" - ANC MP George Lekgetho on the benefits of legalizing
prostitution for the 2010 world cup.

So there you have it ladies and gentlemen. To be cured from aids, eat
garlic and beetroot. If you don't want aids, take a shower, and all we
have to do to stop the electricity crisis is to go to bed early so we
can be cleverer and rapes only occur because people don't have access to
prostitutes.

Sleep tight South Africa. Your government has everything under
control.........

7 days in the slammer...

Luckily not me but my beloved car....

So it will sit for 7 days then be released... what a pain... but if you do the crime you got to do the time right?

Taking the kids and wife along did not help...

It was surprisingly a very smooth and fast process.. they did warn me that if my car stays longer than 7days in the impound that I will be charged AED100 a day... plenty of cars and bikes locked up.. I was surprised that I was allowed to drive my car in and park it...

Why? well according to the traffic dept. i was speeding in a 60kph zone... but the road i was travelling on should not be a 60 kph zone.. in certain sections it even goes down to 40!!! The road i was caught on is the one that runs at the back of the greens past the lakes/emirates hills and the springs on to Al Khail RD... dual road on either side.. i was just at the wrong place when the coppers thought to be sneaky and hide a mobile cam and make a quick buck!!!... Reckon they must catch loads of people on that stretch of rd... pure evil i tell ya!!

yup it sucks...... what to do...?

celavie....
